The Measurement Challenge

Human Performance Improvement tackles the measurement challenge squarely by confronting the organisation with hard questions on the alignment of results to organisational objectives. Has the organisation achieved what it has set out to do? Measurement is necessary.

Many organisations are able to articulate their missions and visions beautifully but the challenge has always been in establishing the optimal processes and measures that lead to the desired destination. By asking powerful questions and collecting crucial information, HPI seek to peel off the different layers of the organisation to gain a full understanding of its operating constituents.

Human Performance Improvement

What is human performance improvement? It is a disciplined process of setting organisational goals, relating these goals to the performance of people, uncovering the reasons for performance gaps, identifying and implementing solutions, managing change and evaluating the direct and indirect results in alignment to the mission and vision of the organisation.

Sounds very similar to human resource development and organisation development? Yes, HPI does cover elements of HRD and OD and even more. It contains the critical front-end piece of organisational diagnosis and the sytematic approach of uncovering root causes in the problem analysis phase.
